Fodens Solicitors proudly sign the Armed Forces Covenant

On the 14th February 2024 at the Dawley Reserve Centre in Telford, Sophie Price, Director at Fodens Solicitors, signed the Armed Forces Covenant on behalf of Fodens.

Sophie Price said: “We’re honoured to stand alongside the Armed Forces community as we sign the
Armed Forces Covenant. At Fodens, we recognise the sacrifices made by Armed Forces members and
their families. We pledge to support veterans, reservists, and their loved ones, ensuring they face no
disadvantage in our provision of services. Our commitment also extends to promoting Armed Forces
awareness, supporting employment opportunities, and fostering a culture of respect and gratitude.”

The Armed Forces Covenant affirms that everyone who has served in the military, whether full-time or
part-time, should face no disadvantage when it comes to accessing public and commercial services. It
also recognises the need for special consideration for individuals in the Armed Forces community,
especially for those who have given the most, such as the injured or bereaved.

As per the terms of the agreement, Fodens has committed to upholding the principles of the Armed
Forces Covenant in the following ways:

Promoting the Armed Forces

Publicising the fact that we are an Armed Forces-friendly organisation to staff, customers, suppliers, contractors and the wider public.

Supporting veterans

We will support the employment of veterans and their families by working with the Career Transition
Partnership (CTP) to fully recognise military skills and qualifications in our recruitment and selection
process.

Supporting service spouses and partners

We will support the employment of service spouses and partners by partnering with the Forces Families
Jobs Forum.

Maintaining training initiatives

We will deliver training to Fodens staff on the unique challenges the Armed Forces community faces. We
understand the need of many in offering flexible appointment times, understanding that matters such
as buying a property for the first time can be daunting when leaving service arrangements.

Supporting reservists and cadet leaders

We will support employees who are members of the Reserve Forces and support their annual Reserve
Forces training. We will support mobilisations and deployment, and actively encourage members of staff
to become reservists.

We will also support any employees who are volunteer leaders in military cadet organisations,
particularly in attending annual training camps and courses. We will champion local military cadet units
and encourage our staff to become volunteer leaders.

Alongside these commitments, we will ensure the skills and qualifications held by cadets, ex-cadets and
reservists are properly recognised in our recruitment processes. Such employees have a wealth of skill
sets and experience to offer.

Recognising national events

We commit to fully recognising and observing national events associated with the Armed Forces
community. These include Armed Forces Day, Reserves Day, Poppy Appeal Month and Remembrance
Day.
