Fodens Solicitors Limited is an established, forward-thinking practice known for delivering high-quality, people-focused legal advice. We are seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive, ideally STEP-qualified, to play a key role in the continued growth and development of our Private Client department.

This role will suit a confident practitioner who enjoys managing complex private client matters, including trusts, values long-term client relationships, and wants meaningful input into the direction and standards of a department
rather than simply handling volume work.

You will work closely with the firm’s Directors on high-value estates, trusts, Court of Protection matters, and professional deputyship work, and will be encouraged to contribute strategically to the ongoing development of both the department and the wider firm.

The Role

Depending on your experience and interests, the role may include:

• Managing a high-quality private client caseload
• Complex wills and estate planning
• Estate administration, including taxable and high-value estates
• Trust creation, administration, and advisory work
• Developing a specialist area of focus if preferred, rather than
  undertaking a broader caseload
• Acting as a trusted adviser to clients, including elderly and vulnerable clients, and those seeking sensitive, pragmatic succession and inheritance tax planning advice

About You

You will be a senior, established private client practitioner who brings confidence, sound judgement, and credibility to your work.

You will ideally have:

• Qualification as a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive, with significant private client experience
• STEP qualification, or an equivalent level of technical expertise
• Confidence in advising on complex and sensitive matters, including trusts and inheritance tax issues
• Excellent client-handling skills and a commitment to building long-term professional relationships
• A calm, measured, and solutions-focused approach, particularly when supporting vulnerable clients or dealing with emotionally complex situations
• The ability to work collaboratively while also operating confidently and independently
• A willingness to contribute ideas and professional insight to help shape the department’s future
