Supporting the Poppy Appeal

Supporting the Poppy Appeal

Every year, thousands of wonderful volunteers take part in the Poppy Appeal to raise vital funds for the Armed Forces. The appeal marks a very important date in the calendar, and is a poignant way to remember those that gave their lives in battle during the First World War.

This year, one of our directors, Sophie Yates, will be taking part in the Poppy Appeal for Wellington.

Sophie found out that Wellington had nobody to help organise the Poppy Appeal this year so took this to the Wellington Rotary Club, where she is a member. They agreed to support Sophie with her efforts in taking this on.

Together with other volunteers from the Wellington Rotary Club, Sophie will be overseeing the collections at Tesco Wrekin Retail Park and Wellington Morrisons, plus co-ordinating delivery of items around the area.

“I am extremely grateful, not only to the Rotary Club for their help, but to Fodens – who are supporting me in this initiative to ensure the appeal continues in the area”, said Sophie.

We are very proud of Sophie’s efforts, and wish her and the team all the luck in the Poppy Appeal. If you are in the Wellington area from the 25th October, make sure you keep an eye out and stop by!
