Building Control Service provided by approved inspectors

Local Authority Control | Approved Inspectors Control | Do Regulations Apply?

Approved inspectors are private sector companies or practitioners who check plans and inspect the building work.

If requested to, the approved inspector will issue plan certificates to confirm that the proposed building work will conform to building regulations. Notifying the local authority of the proposed building work is a joint responsibility of the owner and the approved inspector. Once the initial notice has been approved the work can be started.

When the work is complete, the approved inspector will issue a final certificate if the work reaches the required standard.
