Graham’s Employment History
September 1977 – March 1983 – Shrewsbury & Atcham Borough Council Technical Services Department during which time Graham gained an HNC qualification in Civil Engineering.
March 1983 – Joined West Mercia Constabulary as a Police Constable
January 1987 – January 1991 Detective Constable at Malinsgate Police Station, Telford.
January 1991 – January 1994 Detective Constable West Mercia Force Crime Squad.
January 1994 – January 1996 Police Sergeant at Shrewsbury Police Station
January 1996 – September 1996 – Detective Sergeant at Oswestry Police Station
September 1996 – March 1998 – Detective Sergeant on the Regional Crime Squad responsible for Intelligence Development.
March 1998 – January 2000 –Detective Sergeant on the National Crime Squad with responsibility for Financial Investigation.
During his time at the National Crime Squad Graham was one of only two officers from the United Kingdom to be seconded to the EU Commission conducting a scoping study into the investigation of Serious and Organised Crime in Poland as part of that country’s pre-accession to the European Union. In recognition of the work he undertook in Poland Graham received a Commendation from the Director General of the National Crime Squad which was presented to him by then Home Secretary, David Plunkett.
January 2000 – January 2003 – Team Leader at The National Criminal Intelligence Service with responsibility for managing Covert Human Intelligent Sources.
In January 2003 Graham returned to West Mercia Police where after a brief period on the Criminal Investigation Department at Bridgnorth he transferred onto the Intelligence Unit at Shrewsbury Police Station.
In January 2007 Graham was promoted to the rank of Detective Inspector and appointed Head of the Divisional Intelligence Unit for Shropshire. He remained in this post until his retirement from the Police Service in April 2009.
Since his retirement Graham has developed a business known as Legal Legwork which provides investigation services to solicitor’s practices throughout Shropshire.
Practice areas
Graham assists in the litigation department of Fodens Solicitors using his previous police experience in the taking of statements and forensically investigating evidence provided for court proceedings.
